Islamabad, July 4, 2025: Pakistanis were left shocked when explicit search terms appeared under the official website of the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) following what seemed to be a hacking attempt or unauthorized backend changes.
Upon investigation, it was found that the situation was connected to a cyber intrusion. Individuals aware of such incidents suggested that EOBI’s site could be operating on a vulnerable WordPress template, which might have been exploited by attackers to insert spam-related SEO links.

While such cases are not uncommon, this happening at a federal-level welfare body sparked serious concerns, as EOBI operates under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, handling pension schemes and benefits for private sector workers across the country.
