Govt Reopens Babusar Top Road in Naran-Kaghan After Six-Month Closure

Islamabad, 22 May, 2025: The road to Babusar Top, the highest point of the Kaghan Valley, was completely restored after a 6-month long closure by the NHA after cutting various glaciers.

The Kaghan Highway has been restored from Naran to Babusar Top. According to the Deputy Director of the National Highway Authority, Mansehra, there were about 20 small and large glaciers ahead of Naran, due to which the road was blocked.

Tourists used to travel to Gilgit via the Karakoram Highway. After the restoration of Babusar Top, the journey of tourists and locals to Gilgit will be reduced by 7 hours.

After the restoration of the road, lines of vehicles of locals and tourists were formed, while the Mansehra Police has also set up a police post at Geti Das for the protection of tourists.
