Atlas Honda Limited (PSX: ATLH), Pakistan’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, has reported its highest-ever quarterly profit of Rs. 4.8 billion after tax for the quarter ending June 30, 2025 (Q1 FY26). This marks a 4% increase quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) and a 38% jump year-on-year (YoY), according to a report by Topline Securities.

This stellar performance underscores the company’s robust operational efficiency and surging demand for motorcycles amid improving macroeconomic indicators and easing inflationary pressures.

Record-Breaking Motorcycle Sales Drive Earnings

The company’s sales volume surged to 360,826 units during the quarter — reflecting a 9% QoQ and 30% YoY growth. This robust demand pushed net sales to Rs. 62 billion, up by 31.3% compared to the same quarter last year.

Punjab BISEs Announce Matric Results 2025

The surge in sales volume has been attributed to:

  • Increased consumer purchasing power
  • Stabilizing input costs
  • Growing demand in rural and urban markets
  • Effective dealer network strategies and promotional campaigns

Gross Profit Soars 70% Amid Cost Management

Atlas Honda’s gross profit rose from Rs. 4.6 billion in Q1 FY25 to Rs. 7.8 billion in Q1 FY26, representing a massive 70% increase. This improvement came on the back of higher sales and improved cost of goods sold (COGS) efficiency, leading to better profit margins despite rising administrative and marketing costs.

Expenses Increase but Remain Manageable

The company experienced a notable rise in operating expenses:

  • Sales and marketing expenses increased by 30.6% to Rs. 1.17 billion, reflecting more aggressive campaigns and outreach initiatives.
  • Administrative expenses also rose by 24.5% to Rs. 1.17 billion, mainly due to inflation-linked adjustments and talent acquisition in line with business expansion.

Despite these increases, the operating profit margin remained healthy, supported by topline growth and margin expansion.

Other Income Declines, But Bottom Line Stays Strong

While the company reported Rs. 1.78 billion in other income (net of financial charges and operating expenses), it marked a 26.5% decline YoY. The fall was due to reduced interest income and exchange rate volatility compared to the previous period.

However, this decline had minimal impact on the company’s overall profitability due to the strength of core operations.

EPS Reaches Rs. 38.74 — A 38% YoY Rise

The earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs. 38.74, compared to Rs. 28.02 in the same period last year. The substantial increase in EPS highlights shareholder value creation and reinforces Atlas Honda’s position as a leading performer on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

Stock Performance: Positive Market Response

Following the results announcement, Atlas Honda’s stock surged:

  • Share price increased by Rs. 71.14, closing at Rs. 1,170
  • Turnover reached 79,467 shares, indicating strong investor confidence and interest in the stock

The impressive quarterly results have fueled bullish sentiment, with analysts forecasting a strong outlook for the company in FY26, barring unforeseen macroeconomic shocks.

Industry Outlook and Growth Momentum

The motorcycle industry in Pakistan is witnessing a gradual rebound, especially as:

  • Inflation moderates
  • Fuel prices stabilize
  • Interest rates show signs of easing
  • Financing options improve

Atlas Honda, with its strong dealer network, trusted brand, and efficient supply chain, is well-positioned to capitalize on the recovery. Additionally, its focus on fuel efficiency, product quality, and affordability makes it a preferred choice in both urban and rural segments.

Conclusion: Atlas Honda Steers Toward a Strong FY26

With a record quarterly profit of Rs. 4.8 billion, over 360,000 motorcycles sold, and consistent operational excellence, Atlas Honda Limited has started FY26 on a highly optimistic note. While challenges such as raw material volatility, exchange rate fluctuations, and competition remain, the company’s financial resilience and market leadership are likely to keep it ahead of the curve.

As Pakistan’s economic conditions continue to stabilize, Atlas Honda’s strategic focus on volume growth, operational efficiency, and technological innovation will be key drivers of sustained performance in the quarters to come.
