Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed that Pakistan’s path to economic recovery lies in cooperation and investment, not foreign aid. Addressing key stakeholders, the premier stressed that Pakistan is seeking partnerships based on mutual respect, trade, and development rather than handouts or loans.
He explained that Pakistan must move beyond the culture of dependency and adopt a model that emphasizes productivity, innovation, and self-reliance. Friendly nations, he added, now expect cooperation through business and trade — not aid. The Prime Minister cited global examples, such as the United Arab Emirates and China, where countries transformed their economies by focusing on industrialization, technology, and infrastructure rather than continuous financial assistance.
PM Shehbaz highlighted that economic stability and national security are deeply interconnected. To achieve sustainable growth, he called for close collaboration between the government, private sector, and international partners. Encouraging foreign investment and strengthening local industries, he said, would be the cornerstone of Pakistan’s new economic strategy.
He reiterated that Pakistan is not looking for sympathy or charity but for equal partnerships that bring mutual benefits. By focusing on investment, exports, and industrial modernization, Pakistan aims to reposition itself as a country of opportunity rather than one dependent on external aid.
This shift marks a decisive move toward economic independence and long-term resilience, reflecting the government’s vision of transforming Pakistan into a self-sustaining and globally competitive economy.
