ISLAMABAD: The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust faced a setback as the Islamabad administration retracted the previously granted no-objection certificate (NOC) for their fundraising event.

Citing constraints imposed by international financial institutions, sources revealed this move.

In a notice issued by the additional district magistrate in Islamabad on Wednesday, a directive explicitly instructed the trust not to proceed with their planned activity at the Marriott Hotel on December 29, 2023.

Aaj News disclosed this important news today. The letter warned of potential legal repercussions if this directive was disregarded.

The cancellation of the NOC transpired just a day before the scheduled fundraising event aimed at gathering funds for the treatment of cancer patients.

According to sources, international regulations mandate fundraisers to adhere to stringent requirements, including the disclosure of donor details and undergoing audits.

Allegedly, the NOC was rescinded due to the organization’s failure to comply with these stipulations.
