TEHRAN: Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi expressed support for South Africa’s decision to take legal action against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for alleged crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.
Raisi commended South Africa’s historic and commendable move during a meeting with Francis Molloy, South Africa’s new ambassador to Tehran.
Raisi highlighted the positive and advancing relations between Iran and South Africa, stating that such connections are unstoppable, according to Tehran Times.
The South African ambassador pledged to enhance relations for the mutual benefit of both countries.
In a separate meeting with Nicaragua’s incoming ambassador, Raisi emphasized Nicaragua’s humanitarian and justice-seeking stance on global issues, particularly condemning Israel’s actions against the Palestinian people.
Raisi underscored the importance of implementing agreements between Iran and Nicaragua.
During a meeting with Japan’s new ambassador, Toskada Tamaki, Raisi expressed Tehran’s intention to strengthen ties with Tokyo in various areas.
Raisi rejected the impact of oppressive sanctions on bilateral relations, criticizing the United States for its involvement in global conflicts.
The Japanese ambassador acknowledged the close ties between the two nations and praised Iran’s efforts to improve regional relations.
