ISLAMABAD: A shocking turn of events unfolded as a female university student, reportedly murdered two months ago, was discovered alive and residing in her hometown during a police investigation.

An FIR had been filed for Tehmina’s murder at an Islamabad police station on September 1.

However, the subsequent police inquiry revealed that she was alive and residing in her native village near Toba Tek Singh, actively attending Toba Tek Singh Agricultural University, as disclosed by police officials on Tuesday.

The case surrounding the female student appears to have been fabricated, allegedly rooted in falsehoods and personal animosity against the suspects.

Investigations revealed that she was neither abducted nor present in the federal capital on the specified date.

The inspector general of police initiated an inquiry following a complaint from the mother of the accused individuals named in the case.

The inquiry report strongly recommended dismissing the case by the court and taking action against those responsible for initiating the false FIR.

According to the report, these cases were purportedly orchestrated under the influence of Capital Development Authority officer Iftikhar Hyderi. SSP Investigation Rukhsar Mehndi forwarded the inquiry report to the IGP.
