Islamabad, Jan 8: Fatima Fertilizer commemorated the sixth Kissan Day with a momentous event in Islamabad, gathering policymakers, stakeholders, and farmers to recognize the critical role of agriculture in Pakistan’s economic framework. The occasion highlighted the tremendous growth of Kissan Day, now a national celebration officially endorsed by the Federal Government since its inception in 2019.

The occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Food Security & Industries, and Khalid Khokhar, President of Pakistan Kissan Ittehad, who all voiced their support for the farming community.

Fatima Fertilizer’s Chief Operating Officer, Asad Murad, in his opening remarks, praised farmers for their vital contributions to the nation, declaring: “Today, as we celebrate the sixth Kissan Day, we pay tribute to the real heroes of our society  Pakistan’s farmers.” He reiterated the company’s commitment to empowering farmers through initiatives like Salam Kissan, aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity with the help of technology and traditional practices.

Rabel Sadozai, Director of Marketing and Sales at Fatima Fertilizer, also spoke passionately about the company’s mission to support farmers through innovation and advocacy, underscoring the importance of sustainable growth in the agricultural sector.

Major General Shahid Nazir, Director General at the Green Pakistan Initiative, emphasized the significance of expanding cultivated land to boost food security and create a surplus for exports. He also highlighted the importance of climate-resilient practices and modern techniques in ensuring long-term agricultural prosperity.
