Islamabad, May 30, 2025: Inter Miami CF end theit four games winless streak with a thrilling 4-2 victory over CF Montreal, moving up to sixth place in the Eastern Conference. Lionel Messi and Lois Suarez, both delivered a performance their fans cheer for.
The game was played at a slow pace for first half, with both sides struggling for goal opportunities. That changed when Sergio Busquets did well to keep the ball from Nathan Saliba before combining with Messi, who then unleashed a stunning curling shot past Montreal keeper Jonathan Sirois to open the scoring.
Though Miami dominated possession, Montreal threatened on the counter and nearly equalized after halftime, forcing goalkeeper Oscar Ustari into a crucial double save. But the game came to life soon after, with three goals in a span of six minutes.
Messi weaved through defenders and assisted Suarez, who slotted home his first goal in a month. Suarez added a second moments later, capitalizing on a defensive error inside the box.

Montreal pulled one back when Dante Sealy calmly finished inside the area. But Miami responded quickly, with Suarez returning the favor by setting up Messi for a classy chip to seal his brace. Despite the lead, Miami again showed defensive lapses. In stoppage time, they conceded from a corner, allowing Victor Loturi to score a late header. It was a minor dent in an otherwise convincing display.

The win was vital for coach Javier Mascherano, though the injuries to Jordi Alba and Lujan are a concern. While their attacking duo was in top form, defensive instability remains an issue the team must resolve.
