Iran is in the process of designating two London-based television channels as “terrorist” for inciting violence and giving out of way coverage to the ongoing unrest in the country.
Kazem Gharibabadi, the judiciary’s deputy for international affairs, said that details are being documented against BBC Persian and Iran International _ London-based TV channels with the goal of blacklisting them.

He said, “Both these TV channels and their agents are being added to the list of terrorist groups and individuals.”
The BBC, however, called the charges “completely fabricated”.
BBC said, “Threats of action against BBC Persian staff for the work they do as journalists is completely unacceptable. Such baseless comments give countenance to the importance of our reliable reporting.”
Both these TV channels have been denounced by Iranian authorities for years. Nonetheless, this is the first time Iranian authorities are taking legal action against them.
