Islamabad, June 1, 2025: Nissan has been actively involved in producing Kei cars, with the collaboration dating back to 2013 when it teamed up with Mitsubishi for the development of the Nissan Dayz and Mitsubishi eK Wagon lineup.

Nissan has also partnered with Japanese auto giants such as Mazda, Subaru, Suzuki, and Isuzu for designing local market vehicles.

The Dayz was introduced as a successor to the Nissan Otti. Since June 8, 2005, Nissan had been receiving 36,000 eK Wagon units from Mitsubishi annually to sell under the Nissan Otti badge in Japan. The Otti remained on sale until June 28, 2013, even though the Dayz and Dayz Highway Star took over from June 6, 2013.

The Nissan Dayz Highway Star, also referred to as the Dayz Rider, is the premium variant of the series. In Pakistan, models from 2013 to 2014 typically cost between PKR 1,200,000 and PKR 1,250,000.
