Minor Price Increase Announced

The federal government increased the prices of petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) after the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) issued its revised notification on Tuesday .

According to the notification, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs1.12 per litre, while the price of HSD has gone up by Rs1.11 per litre . Following the increase, petrol will now be available at Rs343.10 per litre, while the new price of HSD has been fixed at Rs371.80 per litre .

Daily Pricing Mechanism Continues

The revised prices will remain in effect on August 26 and 27. The government charges Rs114 per litre in taxes on petrol and Rs100 per litre in taxes and duties on HSD . The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) continues to publish daily petroleum prices based on a seven-day average of international market prices .

The increases come as global oil prices remain elevated due to ongoing Middle East tensions and supply uncertainties. The government has been revising petroleum prices daily under a mechanism introduced following the outbreak of the Iran conflict on February 28, 2026 .
