Islamabad, Mar 17, 2025: Pakistan’s energy landscape has taken a major leap forward with the Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) unveiling a remarkable discovery of oil and gas reserves in Attock, Punjab.

As per OGDCL’s official report, drilling operations commenced at the Soghri North-1 well on May 21, 2024.

The well is currently yielding an impressive output of 14 million standard cubic feet (MMscfd) of natural gas daily, alongside a substantial production of 430 barrels of crude oil per day.

Industry analysts suggest that this breakthrough will play a crucial role in narrowing the gap between energy supply and demand, effectively supporting Pakistan’s increasing energy requirements.
