President of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), Mr. Mohsen Gilani, held a productive and forward-looking meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Pakistan, Ms. Natalie Baker, at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by PFF Advisor Mr. Eyab Ahmed and PFF Director Legal Mr. Ali Akram, reflecting the federation’s commitment to engaging with international partners to strengthen football development across the country.
Discussions focused on several key strategic areas aimed at advancing football in Pakistan. A major point of emphasis was the development and promotion of women’s football, with both sides acknowledging the importance of creating sustainable pathways, improved access, and long-term opportunities for female players. The dialogue highlighted the role football can play in empowering women and encouraging greater participation at grassroots and elite levels.
Youth engagement initiatives were another central topic of the meeting. The FIFA World Cup 2026, to be hosted by the United States along with Canada and Mexico, presents a unique opportunity to strengthen international football ties and enhance global outreach.

He reaffirmed the PFF’s commitment to working with international stakeholders to expand football’s footprint, improve governance, and create inclusive opportunities for players across all segments of society.
