Disturbance on Board PK-212 Leads to Arrests and Grounding

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Dubai to Islamabad faced a significant delay after a disruptive passenger damaged an aircraft window during an onboard disturbance . The incident on flight PK-212 occurred after the plane had already been held on the ground for nearly three and a half hours due to regional security conditions at Dubai International Airport .

According to the airline spokesperson, the flight was ready for take-off but remained on the ground as airport authorities reportedly introduced a precautionary 10-minute gap between departures . After passengers were served meals during the extended wait, a group of passengers became disorderly, with some reportedly attempting to force their way into the cockpit .

Security Response and Flight Rescheduling

The cabin crew intervened to prevent the cockpit breach, but the situation escalated when an agitated passenger allegedly smashed a window of the aircraft . The captain subsequently contacted Dubai authorities, who boarded the plane and arrested seven passengers in connection with the disturbance .

The aircraft was grounded for technical inspection following the damage . Due to the extended delay, the flight crew had exceeded legally permitted duty hours and were replaced before the flight could resume . Remaining passengers and crew were transferred to a hotel .

PIA has rescheduled the affected flight to depart from Dubai for Islamabad at 11:15 PM on Saturday after completing necessary operational and security clearances .
