Islamabad, June 4, 2025: Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 around airports and air force bases, covering a 15-kilometre area from June 5 to June 20. This move aims to protect flights, especially with Eid-ul-Adha nearing.

Discarding meat near airports after Eid-ul-Adha celebrations often attracts birds to these areas. This poses a significant risk to aircraft safety, passengers, and nearby communities. In recent years, awareness drives have been carried out to reduce such risks.

According to the official notification by Punjab’s home department, activities prohibited under Section 144 within a 15-km radius of all airports and airbases include flying pigeons, setting off fireworks, operating drones and laser pointers, and disposing of sacrificial or charity meat. This restriction will remain effective until June 20.
