Clips of Hamas
In this story, you can see and read multiple clips of Hamas fighters inside Israel.
Israel has announced a state of preparedness for conflict in the wake of an unprecedented military operation initiated by the Palestinian ruling group Hamas.
Hamas launched an attack that saw them infiltrate Israeli residential areas by sea, land, and air, all while unleashing a barrage of thousands of rockets.
During the early hours of Saturday, Palestinian fighters conducted surprise raids on Israeli bases within the region, catching the Israeli security apparatus off guard.
Reports from Israeli radio indicated that 35 Israelis had been taken captive by Hamas fighters.
Mohammed Deif, the leader of Hamas’ military wing, declared the commencement of what he termed “Operation Al Aqsa Storm.”
In a recorded message, he proclaimed, “Today, the people are reclaiming their revolution,” and called upon Palestinians from East Jerusalem to Northern Israel to join the struggle and “remove the occupiers and dismantle the barriers.”
“We must ignite the ground beneath the occupiers’ feet,” he asserted, asserting that Hamas had launched more than 5,000 rockets into Israel.
This offensive follows the killing of a Palestinian during confrontations with illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank town of Huwara. Subsequent violence by settlers during the funeral resulted in nine additional individuals being hospitalized.
Rocket attacks from the besieged Palestinian enclave were launched from multiple locations, beginning at 06:30 am [0330 GMT], and persisted for approximately thirty minutes.

The Israeli military issued warnings of sirens throughout the southern part of the country, while the police urged the public to remain close to bomb shelters. Explosions were audible in cities around Tel Aviv and outside occupied Jerusalem.
