127 accused
ISLAMABAD: About 127 accused of the May 9 riots were granted bail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
Orya Maqbool Jan, a famous analyst, disclosed this in his tweet on X-platform (former Twitter) on Thursday.

Jan asserted that wisdom was dominating the establishment and they have realized that peace was not possible without Imran Khan.
That’s why, he said, 127 accused of the May 9 violence got bail in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
Meanwhile, he also tagged a tweet of a journalist who disclosed that Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani held second meeting with President Arif Alvi. Both discussed the outcome of their previous meeting.
He claimed that President Alvi has expressed satisfaction regarding national consensus on important issues.
President Alvi also said that democracy and army should not be made controversial in Pakistan.
President Arif Alvi and Muhammad Ali Durrani discussed continuity of democratic process in the country and holding of general elections.
ECP to hold general elections in January 2024
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan today announced that the general elections will be held in the last week of January 2024.
The Commission said that by Nov 30, 2023, it will complete the delimitation process and hold the elections in January 2024.
The ECP announced this after holding a meeting in Islamabad wherein the officials of the Commission reviewed the ongoing process of delimitation. With this announcement, the Commission has ended uncertainties pertaining to the upcoming general elections.
Meanwhile, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is set to supply brand-new 2000 laptops to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The HEC is giving laptop to ECP for preparation for the forthcoming general elections.
The ECP has finalized an agreement with the HEC for the procurement of 2,000 laptops. The laptops will be allocated to returning officers (ROs) for use during the upcoming general election procedures.
The laptops to be acquired by the HEC are of standard internal specifications. Simultaneously, on Tuesday, the ECP issued a report revealing that the total number of registered voters in the country has now surpassed 126 million.
