Suryavanshi’s landmark century came in just 35 balls, making it:
- The second-fastest century in IPL history
- The fastest by an Indian
- The fastest IPL fifty ever, reached in just 17 balls
Only Chris Gayle’s iconic 30-ball century for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013 remains ahead in the record books.
A Star Is Born
Facing Rashid Khan, Suryavanshi pulled the world-class spinner for six to bring up his century, capping an innings of extraordinary aggression and composure. He was eventually bowled for 101 off 38 balls, an innings studded with 7 fours and 11 towering sixes.

Suryavanshi’s incredible performance comes barely a year after he was signed by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore (£103,789). He only turned 14 last month, but he’s already making waves as one of the most exciting young cricketers in the world.
Earlier this month, he hit a six off the very first ball he faced in the IPL, and his bold style was on full display again on Monday as he hammered senior bowlers Ishant Sharma and Karim Janat for 28 and 30 runs in single overs, respectively.
