17-Year-Old TikToker Sana Yousuf Shot Dead in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, June 2, 2025: A 17-year-old TikTok content creator, Sana Yousuf, hailing from Chitral was shot and killed inside her residence in the federal capital Islamabad, in an apparent case of honor killing.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at House No. 81, Street No. 33, G-13 sector, on Monday, in the jurisdiction of Sumbal Police Station. Police said that an unidentified assailant entered the house and opened fire, killing her on the spot. She sustained two bullet wounds.

Initial reports quote sources saying that a guest visiting the TikToker’s residence was responsible for the shooting. The alleged shooter also fled the scene immediately afterwards. Authorities have yet to confirm the motive, but early reports suggest the killing may be linked to an alleged case of ‘honour’ based violence.

Sana Yousuf, daughter of social activist Yousuf Hassan, originally hailed from the Chunj area of Upper Chitral. She was reportedly working at a property office in Islamabad.

Her body was taken to PIMS Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene, and police have launched an investigation.

The incident has also sparked outrage on social media, with users demanding the swift arrest and prosecution of those involved. Some implored the continued tragedies of murdered women including Qandeel Baloch, Noor Mukadam and now Sana Yousuf.
