On Saturday, Gaza witnessed a tragic toll as at least 200 Palestinians lost their lives. This devastating loss of lives followed a relentless barrage of rockets launched into Israel by the Palestinian group Hamas. In response, Israel initiated air strikes in the region.
According to the health ministry, the conflict had resulted in “198 individuals becoming martyrs, with an additional 1,610 sustaining various injuries.”

Earlier that day, Hamas carried out a substantial attack on Israel, marking one of the most significant assaults in recent years. This surprise assault involved both armed militants infiltrating Israeli towns and a continuous rocket barrage originating from the Gaza Strip.
In response to these actions, Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared that the group had effectively declared war. Israel’s armed forces confirmed engagements with Hamas fighters in multiple Israeli towns and military installations near Gaza.
Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed to respond decisively, stating, “Our adversary will face consequences unlike any it has experienced before. We are at war, and we will emerge victorious.”The toll on the Israeli side was also grim, with at least 40 casualties and over 770 individuals wounded, as reported by Israel’s ambulance service. Regrettably, it was anticipated that these figures might rise further.
