The New York Times article today revealed that intelligence assessments indicate at least 32 of the 136 hostages held in Gaza are deceased.

The Hostage and Missing Families Forum, informed by the IDF prior to the article’s release, states that 31 hostages have perished according to official data.

The military had previously confirmed 29 deaths among the 132 hostages taken during the Hamas assault on October 7, which resulted in 1,200 casualties and 253 hostages. The Times of Israel reported this development today.

Hamas released 105 hostages in a temporary truce, leaving 132 captives and four others: the bodies of two IDF soldiers since 2014 and two Israeli civilians who entered the Strip in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Of the remaining 136 hostages, at least 32 are confirmed dead, most from the October 7 attack, with uncertainty about whether this includes the two soldiers killed in 2014.

Additionally, there are unconfirmed reports suggesting 20 more hostages may have been killed, prompting IDF investigation.
