The Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) recently hosted a landmark event, where the world’s largest UAE flag made from 24,514 human handprints was unveiled, earning the Pakistani community in Dubai a Guinness World Record. The remarkable achievement was certified by a representative from Guinness World Records and was celebrated by people from over 100 different nationalities, showcasing the unity and diversity that the UAE is renowned for.

Held on Thursday, May 22, at the PAD auditorium, this extraordinary event brought together people of various ethnicities and backgrounds, including Indians, Bangladeshis, Filipinos, Arabs, and many others, in a collective display of solidarity.

A Symbol of Unity: Handprints as “Heart Prints”

Among the attendees were Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, and Consul General Hussain Muhammad, who were present for the official Guinness World Records certification. Ambassador Tirmizi delivered a heartfelt message, calling the handprints on the flag “heart prints” that symbolize unity, love, and dedication. He emphasized that the initiative aligned with the vision of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and celebrated the deep-rooted UAE-Pakistan relationship.

Tirmizi stated:

“This initiative is not just about setting a world record. It is about the shared spirit of collaboration and the enduring bond between the people of Pakistan and the UAE.”

The idea for the project was conceived by artist Rubab Zahra, who worked in partnership with Pakistan Association Dubai and Emirates Love Pakistan to bring this ambitious vision to life. The project began in mid-April during Pakistan Health Week, which was celebrated in Dubai’s Al Quoz area. It was a month-long campaign that sought to bring together people from all walks of life to participate in the flag-making process.

Zahra also emphasized how the project brought people from all backgrounds together for a common cause, reflecting the multicultural spirit of the UAE and the deep ties between Pakistan and the Emirates.

The flag stood as a testament to the collaborative efforts of the UAE’s diverse society. It symbolized not only the strong Pakistani-UAE bond but also the ability of the multicultural UAE community to come together for a greater cause.
