DRAP denies increase in retail prices of essential medicines saying it has registered 25 new medicines

ISLAMABAD: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) dispelled the impression that it has increased prices of 25 essential medicines. DRAP said it has registered 25 new medicines and notified their prices.

The MRF for Inhaler (Turbohaler) is Rs1,389 (400mcg) and Rs 833 (200mcg). Notably, the highest price for a pack of 10 Zerbaxa powder is Rs153,566.

Furthermore, a pack containing 30 Lorviqua 25mg tablets will be priced at Rs276,857. The 30-tablet pack for the 100mg variant is available for Rs846,857.

For the variants of 75mg, 100mg, and 125mg, the new price of a pack of seven Ibrance tablets is Rs74,510.

The maximum permissible cost for a pack comprising 20 Paracetamol tablets is Rs192.

Regarding pharmaceuticals, a pack consisting of 50 Bilastine tablets will be available for Rs1,723. The MRP for Rupatadine solution’s is Rs 207 (60ml) and Rs 406 (120ml).

Meanwhile, the highest price for a pack containing 30 Alogliptin tablets is Rs 650.

DRAP has increased the Trelagliptin’s upper price limit to Rs 10,263 (50mg) and Rs17,105 (100mg). As for Tofacitinib tablets, a pack of 10 is available at Rs 26,710.

Polivy injections’ new price is Rs320,000, whereas Ibuprofen lysine injections MRP is Rs 103.

The new price of a pack containing 500 Chloroquine Phosphate tablets is Rs1,006. Etanercept vials is available at Rs26,400. The highest permissible price for a pack of 60 Albendazole Tablets is Rs1,267.

Furthermore, a single vial of Hepatitis-B Immunoglobulins injection can now be valued at up to Rs10,275.

For Irbesartan + Amlodipine tablets, a pack of 10 will be available for Rs838 (105mg) and Rs956 (110mg).

Meanwhile, the price of a single vial of Bortezomib injection is now Rs17,513 (maximum).
