Islamabad, 13 June 2025: Actor Rashid Mehmood became the victim of a violent mob assault in Punjab’s Rahim Yar Khan district following a road incident involving his vehicle.
According to initial details, Actor Rashid Mehmood was driving towards Rahim Yar Khan to pick up his wife when an accident occurred near the motorway interchange.
He reportedly turned his car onto the wrong side of the road, unintentionally heading toward Sheikh Zayed Bridge. At a downward slope near the bridge, a motorcycle carrying a man, three women, and two children collided at high speed with his vehicle.
Although none of the motorcyclists sustained serious injuries, the incident sparked outrage among nearby residents. Eyewitnesses say a group of locals rushed to the scene and began assaulting the actor without seeking clarification or understanding the situation.

The assault resulted in internal injuries to the actor’s face and chest. The crowd also reportedly damaged his vehicle and forcibly took his national identity card along with other personal belongings. Actor Rashid Mehmood described the experience as terrifying and said that the attack left him deeply shaken.
In a statement to the media, he recounted that only a compassionate bystander intervened, rescuing him from the enraged crowd and helping him reach a safe location.
The individual also alerted the local police, who later contacted the actor to obtain his residence details and phone number.
Actor Rashid Mehmood expressed profound shock at the incident, suggesting that the outcome could have been far worse had he not received timely help.
He emphasized how vulnerable anyone could be in such unpredictable situations, especially without any immediate protection.
