Islamabad, 4 June 2025: Air Punjab is set to become the province’s first-ever airline, following official approval by the Punjab Cabinet. This landmark project, announced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, marks a major step in the region’s efforts to modernize its transport infrastructure and expand public services.
Expected to launch within the next 12 months, Air Punjab aims to enhance regional connectivity, making air travel more accessible to the public while also boosting economic growth through tourism and trade.
In a high-level cabinet session, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz rolled out a broad reform package addressing several key sectors.
Her vision includes the introduction of electric public buses, a new wheat subsidy initiative to support low-income households, and significant upgrades in public school facilities across Punjab.

A centerpiece of the development blueprint is a massive 5,000-kanal medical city, which is expected to transform the healthcare landscape by providing state-of-the-art treatment facilities, medical research centers, and training institutes.
