KHAIRPUR/ISLAMABAD: Hina Shah, a key suspect in the murder case of the minor maid Fatima Phariro, surrendered herself to the police on Tuesday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Samiullah Soomro, Hina Shah, is the wife of Pir Asad Shah. She surrendered due to the persistent police raids and actions.
Subsequently, the wife of Pir Asad Shah has been relocated to the women’s police station. Hina Shah will be brought before the court for remand.
The tragic incident involving the 10-year-old victim, Fatima, occurred at Asad Shah’s residence. A video capturing her demise went viral on social media.
The postmortem report confirmed that the minor maid had been subjected to sexual abuse, DIG Sukkur Javed Jiskani told media.
Asad Shah and his father-in-law, Fayyaz Shah, have already been arrested in connection with the case.
Previously, Fatima’s mother had lodged a complaint with the police. She alleged that SHO Khanwahin Ghani Dayo had threatened to abduct or harm her. The SHO is using derogatory language against my late daughter, she added.
She also claimed, “SHO Khanwahin police is acting as an enforcer for the Ranipur Pirs.” Fatima’s mother demanded police protection against this police officer.
The interim home minister of Sindh, during his visit to the family, had ordered action against the SHO, who is still holding the SHO position.

Meanwhile, the family of the murder victim in Ranipur has filed a complaint, stating that SHO Khanwahin is issuing threats of abduction and murder.
Ten-year-old child maid, Fatima, died in the Haveli of Asad Shah in Ranipur, and a video of her dead body went viral on social media.
Police arrested Pir Fayyaz Shah, a co-accused in the murder case of the child maid Fatima Phuriro. Police also apprehended Fayyaz Shah when he was returning to his haveli after a press conference.
An anti-terrorism court, on Thursday, granted a five-day physical remand for the accused Asad Shah and co-accused Imtiaz Meerasi in the murder case.
