Banned Militant Outfit
ISLAMABAD: In an unexpected development, the banned militant outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan expressed deep condolence over the Bajaur attack.
TTP released a 5-minute long condolence video regarding the suicide attack during a JUI-F workers’ convention in Bajaur. More than 60 JUI-F died in the attack.
However, the video did not mention anything against the banned IS-KP (Islamic State Khorasan Province), which claimed responsibility for the Bajaur attack.
In the video, TTP leaders Maulana Azmatullah Mehsud and Maulana Faqir Muhammad held the government’s policies responsible for such “incidents.”
Initial investigations indicated that the outlawed Islamic State could be behind the suicide bombing in Bajaur.
Analysts, who monitor terrorism incidents in the region, believe that IS-KP may comprise some individuals from the banned TTP who receive support from certain individuals across the border.
Bajaur death toll surges to 63
The death toll in the Bajaur suicide bombing increased to 63 today, as nine more people succumbed to their wounds. As of now, three bodies remain unidentified.

Different hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are currently treating at least 123 people injured in the blast.
On Sunday, during the workers’ convention of JUI-F in Khar’s Shady Morr area, a suicide bomber detonated himself, resulting in the instant death of 44 people and severe injuries to many others. Pakistan Army helicopters air-lifted dozens of the wounded to Peshawar for urgent medical care.
Bajaur attack is the biggest intelligence failure: Maulana Fazlur Rahman
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman labeled the Bajaur blast as the ‘biggest intelligence failure.’
In response to the explosion, the party plans to summon a local jirga. In a video statement, the JUI-F chief questioned the capability of the 26 intelligence institutions.
