Islamabad, July 2, 2025: Continuous heavy rainfall in Haripur and nearby regions since Tuesday night triggered flooding in streams and major roads, while water levels at Tarbela Dam surged dangerously.

In a swift response, the district administration opened the dam’s spillways on Wednesday to manage the overflow. According to official sources, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a medium-level flood warning for the region.

Authorities have placed the deputy commissioners of Haripur, Nowshera, and Swabi on high alert as a precautionary measure. Local residents are advised to stay informed and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.
