France has unveiled a new four-year talent visa program aimed at attracting skilled foreign workers to reside and work in the country, according to a report by Y-Axis.
The visa is tailored for highly qualified non-EU workers who can contribute to France’s economic advancement.
Salary requirements vary, ranging from the legal minimum wage to 1.8 times the standard for workers engaged in innovative projects or those with recognized national or international expertise.
Known as the Talent Passport program, it extends eligibility to spouses and children of visa holders, enabling them to apply for multi-year residence permits.
Qualified candidates include skilled professionals such as researchers, artists, and educators in academia, science, literature, arts, sports, and education.
Entrepreneurs investing a minimum of €30,000 in the country may also qualify, provided they meet specific criteria such as holding a Master’s degree or having five years of relevant experience.
While French authorities have tightened language proficiency standards for certain residency cards, holders of the talent passport remain exempt from these requirements.
Moreover, spouses and adult children will have the opportunity to work in France, and the passport holder can obtain relevant permits from local police stations.
