Islamabad, July 14, 2025: The government has placed an immediate ban on turning bikes into loader-rickshaws by fixing metal or wooden structures in the Rawalpindi division.
The Secretary of the Transport Authority, the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department, and the Traffic Police have been told to start an instant action against these changed motorcycles. Proper loader-rickshaws and Qingqi rickshaws will still be allowed for transporting people and goods.
The government has mainly focused on bikes that have been changed into loader-rickshaws using metal bars or wooden setups. A complete ban has been applied to these types of vehicles running on main roads, marketplaces, and busy routes.

Instructions have been given to take such vehicles into police stations. If a vehicle is taken, the owner will get it back only after the added loader parts are taken off, and the bike will be handed over under court supervision.
