Islamabad High Court summons DG Rangers, Interior Secretary to recover Murad Akbar, brother of Shehzad Akbar
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court today summoned the DG Rangers and Interior Secretary for the recovery Murad Akbar.
Murad Akbar is brother of Shehzad Akbar, former adviser on accountability of then Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The IHC Judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani summoned the DG Rangers Shehzad Bukhari and Secretary Interior.
Islamabad High Court has summoned DG Rangers and Interior Secretary to recover Murad Akbar.
However, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani has decided to issue a show-cause notice to DG Rangers and the Interior Secretary for not appearing in the court.
IHC Judge warned the DG Rangers and Interior Secretary in case vehicles and people are identified who lifted brother of Shehbaz Akbar.
He said that when so many people come in CTD and Ranger uniforms, it will be a shameful act.
The IHC Judge Justice Kiyani said that millions of rupees have been spent on Safe City project but still it is difficult to arrest thieves and robbers.
Justice Kiyani he would summon interior minister and even Prime Minister if police or Rangers failed to recover Murad Akbar.
PTI President Parvez Elahi arrested
Anti-corruption officials arrested President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in Lahore on Thursday afternoon.
The officials of anti-corruption police arrested Elahi from outside his residence in Gulberg, Lahore. The spokesman of the PTI President and former Punjab chief minister confirmed the arrest.
The development came after an anti-corruption court last week discarded his interim bail over his failure to appear before the court citing health issues.
Anti-corruption officials wanted to arrest the PTI president in the Rs70 million corruption case related to the embezzlement of development funds for the Gujrat district.
The anti-corruption court judge had already declared a bogus medical certificate of Parvez Elahi.
