Islamabad, Dec 13: The KP government has initiated four important programs for empowering the youth through skill development and Economic Yellow.
They include the Ehsaas Hunar Scheme, worth 4 billion rupees, the newly signed Rural Economic Transformation Project of Rs 11.4 billion, modernization of TEI’s and an on-job training scheme for TEVTA graduates.
The programs were inaugurated during a ceremony organized at the Chief Minister’s House in which Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, Provincial Ministers, officials and beneficiaries were present.
Youn khub skilled youth will be provided with interest free mark-up up to Rs. 500,000 under Ehsaas Hunar Scheme for self-employment business launched by Akhuwat Microfinance.
Launched with a Rs. 2 billion outlays for the current fiscal year, the scheme targets around 35,000 persons.
The Rural Economic Transformation Project, supported in collaboration with IFAD and the European Union, will provide free technical education to 60,000 rural youths, including women.
Additionally, the project will grant an average of $300 to 42,000 skilled participants to fund their self-employment.
The technical education enhancement initiative will set up CoE in Abbottabad and Nowshera and convert 22 institutions into model institutions.
The on-job training programme with an outlay of Rs 177 million will provide internship to 3,000 TEVTA graduates in different sectors with a monthly allowance of Rs 15,000.
