LAHORE: On Monday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) delivered a verdict rejecting the admissibility of a petition that sought the removal of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar from office.
Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan presided over the case and announced the reserved judgment.
The petition, filed by local lawyer Muhammad Muqasit, argued that the caretaker prime minister’s appointment has lost its effectiveness after the completion of the mandated 90-day period.
Consequently, the petitioner urged the court to issue an order for the removal of the Caretaker Prime Minister from office.
The federal government, represented by its counsel, strongly opposed the petition, urging the court to declare it inadmissible.
Today, Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan upheld the government’s stance, declaring the application as inadmissible and subsequently dismissing it.
