Israeli forces stop Muslims from praying in Al Aqsa Masjid in Jerusalem: Jews allowed to worship

Israeli police have closed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and stopped Muslim worshippers for the first time in months.

The Islamic Waqf department which is in charge of the Al Aqsa holy site said that Muslims are not allowed to enter the Mosque.

However, Israeli police allowed Jewish worshippers to enter the compound in the morning and hold rituals in violation of the status quo at the mosque which states only Muslims can worship at the holy site.

Meanwhile, for tens of thousands of families in Gaza, hospitals became a refuge from seemingly endless Israeli shelling.

Then came the strike on Ahli Arab Hospital in central Gaza, which the health ministry said killed at least 500 people.

Residents who had been told to flee the north of the Palestinian territory had packed the courtyards and corridors of the territory’s overwhelmed hospitals in the belief they were a safe haven from the Israeli bombardments.

The Hamas government in Gaza termed the attack a “war crime”.

Meanwhile, the health ministry said that “the hospital was housing hundreds of sick and wounded, and people forcibly displaced from their homes” because of other Israeli attacks.
