Mecca Weather: 42°C Heatwave Hits Today

Islamabad, 31 May 2025: Mecca Weather took a blistering turn on Saturday, June 1, as the holy city faced sweltering afternoon temperatures and gusty conditions.

According to meteorological data, the daytime high soared to 42°C, with a RealFeel temperature matching the same. In shaded areas, however, conditions felt slightly less intense, with a RealFeel Shade of 40°C.

Weather experts noted that hazy skies and northwesterly winds contributed to discomfort in the open. Winds blew steadily at 22 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 46 km/h, reducing overall visibility to just 3 kilometres across parts of the city.

Despite the strong breeze, there was no relief from rainfall. The chance of precipitation remained at 0%, with no measurable rainfall recorded throughout the afternoon.

Humidity levels were exceptionally low at 9%, and the dew point stood at a minimal 2°C, further intensifying the dry and arid atmosphere.

Throughout the day, clear skies prevailed, as cloud cover remained at 0%, ensuring uninterrupted sunlight across the region. The sun rose at 5:38 AM and set at 6:59 PM, delivering over 13 hours of daylight.

Lunar observations revealed that the Waxing Crescent Moon appeared mid-morning at 10:44 AM and set just after midnight at 12:01 AM, marking a quiet but visible lunar phase in the sky.

Midday conditions highlighted the continued stretch of hot weather in the region. Historical comparisons show that the forecasted high of 42°C was slightly cooler than last year’s maximum of 45°C on the same date. Overnight temperatures were expected to dip to 28°C, matching the average low for early June.
