ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, the lawyer representing Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz informed the court that the brothers are scheduled to return to Pakistan on March 12.
Accountability judge Nasir Javed Rana oversaw the appeal filed by the brothers seeking the suspension of their perpetual warrant in the Avenfield reference.
Qazi Misbah ul Hassan, the legal counsel for Hassan and Hussain, informed the court that the brothers have been acquitted in the Al-Azizia reference, and the Flagship reference against them has been withdrawn by the National Accountability Bureau.
The lawyer further stated that Hassan and Hussain plan to return to the country on March 12, requesting the suspension of their warrants.
The judge issued notices to the investigation officer and adjourned the case until Thursday.
Hassan and Hussain, the sons of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, have been in exile for several years following their implication in corruption cases in 2017.
Nawaz Sharif, who returned to Pakistan in October of the previous year, has already received relief in multiple NAB cases against him.
