PDM convoys leave for Islamabad sit-in from different cities: Maryam Nawaz reaches Isloo to represent PML-N. The convoys of thousands of supporters and activists of the political parties in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) today departed for Islamabad from various cities for a planned sit-in outside the Supreme Court on Monday. The sit-in of the PDM will be for an indefinite period and till the resignation of chief justice Bandial, according to JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The caravans which departed from various cities today are expected to reach Islamabad on Monday.

Meanwhile, the chief organizer of PML-N Maryam Nawaz reached Islamabad on Saturday night to represent her party in the sit-in of the PDM. She will also address the participants of ‘dharna’ along with other PDM leaders.
As per available details, the PPP convoy is leaving for Islamabad from Lahore. The party’s information secretary Faiza Malik said the activists and workers left the PPP’s Model Town Secretariat in Lahore at 3 pm today.
Ms Malik said that PPP leader Aslam Gill is leading the party’s convoy from Lahore.
PDM sit-in to target resignation of chief justice Bandial
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) is starting its sit-in in Islamabad outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday (May 15).
The target of the JUI-F ‘dharna’ will be the resignation of the chief justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial. The JUI-F sit-in is coinciding with the hearing of the election case by the Supreme Court on Monday.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Saturday that one lakh people will participate in the sit-in in Islamabad, outside the apex court. The ‘dharna’ will continue in collaboration with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) till the resignation of chief justice Bandia, he added.
The JUI-F announced its sit-in on Friday, following a spree of bail to former prime minister Imran Khan in multiple cases by the courts.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said, “More than 100,000 workers will participate in the sit-in, and preparations have been completed for bringing a convoy of thousands of workers from all provinces to Islamabad.”
According to the spokesman, the convoys of JUI-F activists from Quetta and Karachi will depart tomorrow. At the same time, those from the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab will leave their bases on Monday.
According to the schedule, Maulana Ataur Rehman is leading the convoy that will depart from Peshawar’ will be led by Maulana Ataur Rehman; Akram Khan Durrani is leading the convoy from the south of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while Rashid Mehmood Soomro will lead the caravan of party workers from Sindh.
Meanwhile, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Maulana Abdul Wasay are leading the caravan from Balochistan. Dr. Attequeur Rehman will oversee the entire Punjab convoy and reach Islamabad.
PDM chairman and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the ruling coalition would stage a sit-in outside the Supreme Court to protest against the release of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in various cases.
PM Shehbaz Criticizes Supreme Court’s Verdict as “Judicial Injustice”
Meanwhile, a day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif criticized the Supreme Court’s recent decision that favored former prime minister Imran Khan.
He expressed disappointment by calling it “judicial injustice” and a “double standard of courts.”
In response to the violent protests that erupted on May 9 following the detention of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, the prime minister said that such events had not occurred since the fall of Dhaka in 1971.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, PM Shehbaz set 72 hours deadline to arrest all those who attacked Jinnah House in Lahore, GHQ in Rawalpindi and ransacked other public and private properties on May 9.
