ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf strongly criticized the Supreme Court’s move to suspend military court decisions, labeling it a ‘judicial coup’ that could harm the constitutional fabric.
In a statement, the party condemned the larger bench’s ruling as a severe infringement on constitutional principles and a violation of basic human rights. PTI emphasized that the practice of trying civilians in military courts contradicts the norms of any civilized democratic society and lacks provision within the country’s constitution.

Highlighting the decision to halt military trials for civilians as crucial, PTI asserted that it prevented a potential constitutional crisis. The party expressed concern not just over dissenting judicial opinions but also over the worries voiced by legal professionals and experts.
PTI cautioned that the judiciary’s remarks could destabilize the constitutional order, asserting that dismantling established constitutional structures might plunge the country into complex crises rather than fostering reform.
Emphasizing the duty of the Supreme Court to safeguard both the constitution and fundamental rights, PTI pledged to combat what it deemed an ‘organized assault on human rights,’ particularly the prosecution of civilians in ‘fabricated cases’ within military tribunals.
