Realme has kicked off 2026 with the launch of its first major smartphone of the year, the Realme 16 Pro+, placing a strong emphasis on camera innovation, premium design, and long-term software support.
One of the standout features of the Realme 16 Pro+ is its debut of the brand’s new LumaColor Image processing technology. This imaging system is designed to deliver more natural skin tones, enhanced color accuracy, and improved performance under real-world lighting conditions. The phone is among the first Realme devices to incorporate this new technology.
At the core of its camera setup is a massive 200MP primary sensor, using Samsung’s HP5 (1/1.56-inch) sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The main camera supports full-pixel auto zoom, offering 1x and 2x lossless zoom without compromising image quality.
Powered by the LumaColor Image system, the Realme 16 Pro+ introduces 21 exclusive customized color tones, including five signature portrait styles: Lively, Vintage, Fresh, Neon, and Vivid. Additional camera features include HyperRAW, InstantSnap, and Anti-Distortion algorithms, which collectively improve detail sharpness, dynamic shooting stability, and minimize edge distortion.
For zoom photography, Realme has equipped the device with a 50MP periscope telephoto camera featuring Samsung’s JN5 sensor. This lens offers 3.5x optical zoom and supports up to 120x Super Zoom. The triple-camera setup is completed by an 8MP ultra-wide lens for expansive shots.
On the video front, the Realme 16 Pro+ supports 4K HDR video recording across 1x, 2x, 3.5x, and 7x focal lengths, along with dual-focal 4K 60fps recording at 1x and 3.5x. For selfies, the phone houses a 50MP front-facing camera.
Design-wise, the Realme 16 Pro series adopts the company’s new Urban Wild Design philosophy, crafted in collaboration with renowned Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. The Pro+ variant features a bio-based organic silicone back cover, made from plant-derived straw materials, highlighting Realme’s sustainability efforts.
Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, paired with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It sports a large 6.8-inch curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, along with an optical fingerprint scanner for security.
Fueling the phone is a substantial 7,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging. The Realme 16 Pro+ also boasts IP69-rated water and dust resistance, making it one of the more durable phones in its segment.
On the software side, the device runs realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16. Realme has committed to providing three major Android OS updates and four years of security patches.
The Realme 16 Pro+ is available in Master Gold, Master Grey, and India-exclusive Camellia Pink color options. Pricing in India starts at INR 39,999 ($443) for the 8GB/128GB variant.
