Stephen Colbert has revealed that actress Michelle Williams once left him so unexpectedly flustered during an interview that he struggled to compose himself—admitting he “didn’t know what to do with my eyeballs.”

A Candid Confession

The 62-year-old late-night host made the revelation on a recent episode of the “Strike Force Five” podcast, where he reunited with fellow hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver. When Kimmel asked whether any celebrity guest had ever been so attractive that it became distracting, Colbert did not hesitate before naming Williams.

“I’ll tell you who I did not expect to be wildly attracted to,” Colbert confessed. “Like, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I did not know what to do with my eyeballs when Michelle Williams was on for the first time.”

‘I Better Not Look Directly at Her’

The “Late Show” host recalled being caught completely off guard when the “Dawson’s Creek” alum first appeared on his program in 2016.

“She sat down across from me and I went, ‘F***, what is wrong with my head? I’d better not look directly at her for this entire interview,'” Colbert said. He went on to praise Williams’s “vibe,” her face, and described her as “so beautiful.”

Other Stars Who Left an Impression

Williams was not the only celebrity to leave the veteran host distracted. Colbert also admitted to having a “Rachel Weisz problem,” joking that he would sometimes leave the building before her interviews for fear of saying something foolish. He also recalled finding actor Andrew Garfield “so attractive” after sharing an on-screen kiss with him during a 2017 episode.

Colbert’s candid revelations come as he prepares to wrap up his 11-year run on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” with his final episode scheduled to air on May 21.
