BANNU/ISLAMABAD: On Monday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported a tragic suicide bombing in Bannu that claimed the lives of two individuals and left ten others wounded, including soldiers.
The ISPR detailed that the explosion occurred in Bannu’s Bakka Khel area and involved a motorcycle-borne attacker.
“A suicide bomber, identified as an Afghan national and linked with the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, detonated himself on a security forces’ convoy on November 26, 2023,” the statement conveyed.
Tragically, the blast resulted in the loss of two civilians, with seven civilians and three soldiers sustaining injuries.
ISPR also mentioned the ongoing sanitization operation in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists.
Expressing unwavering determination, ISPR stated, “Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism, and the sacrifices of our courageous civilians and soldiers only bolster our resolve.”
Earlier, eight terrorists were eliminated in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in the Sararogha area of the South Waziristan District, as announced by the military’s media affairs wing on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation involved intense gunfire exchanges between the military forces and the terrorists, resulting in the demise of eight individuals associated with terrorist activities.
The terrorists had been actively involved in various attacks against both security forces and innocent civilians. Additionally, arms, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the terrorists who were neutralized during the operation.
The ISPR emphasized that a sanitization operation is underway to ensure the elimination of any remaining terrorists in the area, underscoring the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.
