Police Register Case Over Alleged Cafe Assault
Lahore Police have registered a case against TikToker Rajab Butt and several others following a complaint by a woman alleging assault and harassment at a private café in the city’s Nawab Town area .
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the complainant, Ayesha Jutt, stated that she had gone to a private café with her friends for a meal on July 25 when the incident occurred . She alleged that two men and two women began misbehaving with one of her friends, leading to a confrontation. The complainant claimed the suspects verbally abused her friend before physically assaulting her by slapping her .
She further alleged that one of the accused, identified as Mir Shafi, pulled out a pistol during the altercation and opened fire at the scene . In her statement, the complainant accused Rajab Butt of being present at the scene and orchestrating the incident .
Investigation Underway
Police have registered the case under sections 354, 506(B), and 337-H(2) of the Pakistan Penal Code and have launched an investigation into the allegations . No arrests have been announced so far .
Previous Legal Troubles and Karachi Assault
Rajab Butt has faced multiple legal cases in the past. He was previously booked in a case related to alleged gambling app promotions , and in March 2025, a case was registered against him under blasphemy and cybercrime laws over the name of his perfume brand, 295 .
In December 2025, Butt was allegedly assaulted by a group of lawyers at Karachi’s City Courts while appearing for a hearing in the religious sentiments case . His lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, claimed Butt was attacked by lawyers, leaving him injured . Videos circulating on social media showed Butt with a bloodied mouth and torn shirt . The case stemmed from a complaint filed by lawyer Riaz Ali Solangi under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code, alleging that Butt offended religious sentiments through a December 2024 video . Following public criticism, Butt released a three-part video apologising and expressing regret .
