At least nine people have been confirmed dead following a tragic plane crash in the southern Brazilian city of Gramado on Sunday morning. The crash occurred when a small aircraft, a Piper Cheyenne 400 turboprop, slammed into a commercial area, causing significant damage and loss of life.

Plane Crashes Into Buildings, Causes Widespread Damage

The aircraft, which had taken off from the nearby municipality of Canela, crashed into the chimney of a building, struck the second floor of a house, and then fell onto a furniture store. An inn was also damaged in the aftermath of the crash, which caused a massive fire. The state security secretariat reported the confirmed deaths, stating that there were no survivors from the crash.

Casualties and Injuries

Although the exact number of people on board the plane is still under investigation, it was believed to have been carrying at least 10 people. In addition to the fatalities, at least 15 others were taken to the hospital, mostly for smoke inhalation due to the fire caused by the crash.
