LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Underage driver Afnan intentionally hit the car and killed six members of a family in Lahore’s road accident after a verbal brawl.
Fresh details emerged during the inquiry into the tragic incident that claimed six lives in a traffic mishap in Defense Phase Lahore on the 7th.
Government sources revealed that a young driver named Afnan had a prior verbal brawl with the individuals in the car prior to the accident.
Allegedly, Afnan persistently pursued the women in the car, prompting the victim’s driver to halt and reprimand Afnan.
Sources from the caretaker Punjab government stated that despite efforts from Hasnain’s father in the other vehicle to dissuade the accused from harassing the women, Afnan continued with threats and verbal brawl.
It’s reported that Hasnain, accompanied by his sister and wife, proceeded ahead, leading to the accused resuming the chase. Afnan eventually collided with their car at a speed of 160 km/h.
Moreover, sources added that following the collision, Hasnain’s vehicle veered 70 feet off the road.
Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has instructed the IG Police to invoke terrorism-related clauses in the case. However, the victim’s family has raised concerns about the lack of adequate cooperation from the police in the investigation.
According to the victim’s family, this incident wasn’t merely a road accident but a deliberate attack. Senior government officials and the police briefed Mohsen Naqvi on these claims during a meeting last night.
