PPP Co-Chairman Zardari supports ECP’s delimitation process

Meanwhile, Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), supported the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) plan to complete the delimitation process.

He said the notification of the new census has made it mandatory for the ECP to initiate a fresh delimitation exercise.

The PPP conveyed Zardari’s statement through its social media accounts. It emphasized the electoral authority’s responsibility to conduct elections in accordance with the Constitution.

Asif Zardari also called upon the caretaker government to expedite the initiatives undertaken by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), an apex body formed by the previous government to attract foreign investments.

He added, “It is essential to put the country on the path of development by completing these projects.”

Zardari’s statement came in response to calls from various PPP leaders who urged the ECP to announce polls. PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto also urged the ECP to adhere to the constitutional requirement of holding elections within 90 days.
