Unbelievable: Karachi’s lady SHO refuses to register FIR of DSP whose son was tortured by influential people

KARACHI: It seems to be unbelievable but it is a fact that a lady SHO in Karachi literally refused to register a complaint/FIR of DSP whose son has been tortured by influential people.

Once again, the Sindh police find themselves grappling with the entrenched influence of the vassal system, as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Sindh seeks justice for his son.

The lady Station House Officer (SHO) at Darakhshan Police Station has declined to register the case of DSP’s son against certain ‘influential’ figures.

As per the DSP’s son’s complaint, on December 29, 2023, his vehicle was obstructed by two single-cabin vehicles reportedly driven by these ‘influential’ individuals. The alleged perpetrators then purportedly brandished advanced rifles at him.

Despite multiple attempts to file a report at the Darakhshan Police Station in Karachi’s DHA area, the lady SHO allegedly refused to log the case, as claimed by the complainant.

Additionally, the complainant noted a prior altercation with the same individuals, which was supposedly settled amicably.

The DSP asserts that the accused individuals drive vehicles resembling police cars, complete with police lights, within Karachi’s DHA vicinity. However, the incident seems to stem from a road rage altercation.

Interestingly, despite the Sindh Interior Minister and top police officials imposing a ban on security guards in civilian attire, a video aired exclusively on ARY depicted armed guards in plain clothes brandishing sophisticated automatic rifles on public streets.

Nevertheless, when approached for comment on the incident, the lady SHO, SP Clifton, and DIG South declined to provide any statements.
