Geo TV Producer Zubair Anjum released, reaches home hale and hearty in Karachi
KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Unknown kidnappers released Geo Tv executive producer Zubair Anjum late Tuesday night.
Family of Zubair Anjum confirmed it on Wednesday morning.
As yet unknown armed men abducted Zubair Anjum from his home in Model Colony near Karachi Airport on Monday.
Karachi Press Club, Karachi Union of Journalists and others condemned the kidnapping of Geo TV producer. Journalists also held a protest outside the Karachi Press Club.
Wajahat Anjum, Zubair’s brother said his brother returned hale and hearty a day after he was “picked up” at gunpoint from his residence.

Zubair Anjum, executive producer of Geo News in Karachi has been kidnapped at gunpoint in Karachi.
Unknown armed men abducted Geo News Executive Producer from home and took him to an undisclosed location.
Karachi Press Club and other journalists’ organizations have strongly condemned the kidnapping of a senior producer. The incident has been termed an attempt to silence press freedom.
President Karachi Press Club Saeed Sarbazi, Secretary Shoaib Ahmed, and other elected members of the KPC demanded the immediate release of Zubair Anjum. They also demanded action against the kidnappers. Below is the screenshot of KUJ message in support of Zubair Anjum.
The representatives of Karachi Union of Journalists have also condemned the incident and demanded forthwith release of Zubair Anjum.
The KPC elected representatives have contacted the Inspector General of Police and Interior Minister for the release of the Geo News Executive Producer.
Kidnapping of media-persons has created an alarm in the journalists fraternity in the country and abroad.
Who is Zubair Anjum?
Zubair Anjum is working as an executive producer with Geo TV in Karachi. He has soft corner for PTI, also a poet, and often speaks his heart which annoys ‘certain quarters’ in the country.
