Islamabad, Dec 27: Google has launched its Roman Urdu to Urdu feature on Gboard, enhancing user experience on both Android and iOS platforms. This feature allows real-time conversion of Roman Urdu into Urdu script and also supports other regional languages, including Sindhi, Punjabi, and Kashmiri.

Key Features of Gboard’s Roman Urdu to Urdu:

  1. Real-Time Conversion: Converts Roman Urdu to Urdu accurately.
  2. Multi-Language Support: Extends conversion to Sindhi, Punjabi, and Kashmiri scripts.
  3. Cross-App Functionality: Works seamlessly across apps, including text messaging.

How to Access the Feature:

  1. Install Gboard: Download it from Google Play or the App Store.
  2. Set Up Keyboard: Enable Gboard in your phone’s input settings.
  3. Configure Languages:
    • Go to Gboard settings → Languages.
    • Deselect “Use system language.”
    • Select Urdu (abc → اردو) from the list.
  4. Switch Modes: Press and hold the spacebar to toggle between keyboards.

This addition makes it easier for users to communicate in their preferred script, enriching digital communication in regional languages.
