KP Police Kill Four Militants in Karak Operation, Reveal Six-Month Counterterrorism Report

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police killed four suspected terrorists belonging to the Commander Zahid Group during a joint intelligence-based operation in the Khattak Dam border area of Karak district, the Central Police Office reported.

The operation was launched following intelligence inputs, with militants opening fire on police personnel before security forces retaliated and eliminated all four suspects.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the police for what he termed a successful action against “India-sponsored terrorists,” praising KP police’s role in combating militancy.

Slain Militants Linked to Police Killings

Police officials stated the deceased terrorists were allegedly involved in multiple attacks that killed police personnel, including DSP Asad Mahmood, Sub-Inspector Anar Gul, SHO Umar Nawaz, and Inspector Tahir Nawaz.

Following the operation, authorities cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation. Efforts are underway to formally identify the militants and document their criminal records.

IGP KP Zulfiqar Hameed reaffirmed that operations against militant elements would continue across the province with full force.

Technological Advancement

In a first for Pakistan, KP Police established a dedicated Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Division to enhance surveillance and support counterterrorism operations.

IGP Hameed emphasized protecting lives and property as the force’s top priority, directing officers to strengthen coordination with other law enforcement agencies while maintaining pressure on militant networks.
